What the Custis/Mt. Vernon Trails really need

Snow plows! You DC/NOVA bikers know what I mean. Every time it snows here, the bike trails that lead into the city remain snowpacked for days and days after the event. Whether because the cities and counties around here don't care about the trails, or they lack the money to clean them, bike commuting can be a real bitch in the winter here. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a volunteer trail maintenance crew that kept the paths clear in the winter?
