Another view

Jack Balkin is a professor at Yale Law School and hence, we can safely assume, one sharp cookie. He has a blog, Balkinization which, though updated less frequently than most, is a great source for commentary on constitutional and other legal issues. I recommend it for any person interested in legal issues of the day.

Professor Balkin linked recently to this article he wrote for a symposium on the judicial confirmation process. He has provided a great service in writing this piece in that he provides some valuable historical perspective on judicial confirmations, the politicization of the judiciary, and the general acidic tenor of our current political climate. I know I link to a lot of stuff, but if you have any interest in the politics of the judiciary, please read the article.
